A student got a school assignment on the Hundred Years’ War, and the first thing she tried to do was to search some terms using her brand new laptop.

However, some nonsense kept appearing in the results.

Confused, she decided there must be something wrong with the computer.

She took it to the nearest store and described the issue to the clerk.

He pressed some random keys, then enter, and relevant results appeared.

“I don’t see the issue,” he said.

“Try searching for this famous lady of the Hundred Years’ War,” she said.

He tried and nodded. “You’re absolutely right, the apostrophe doesn’t work” he said, “you can’t key in «d’Arc»”
