My Great Grandfather

My great grandfather was part of the cooking crew at a war ship during WW2

During a battle where the ship was short on gunners he was told to hop on one of the AA batteries and fight fiercely against the enemy aircraft.

After a bunch of battles he became one of the best gunners on the ship.

He was also one of the best cooks as he knew how much salt or spices to use on each meal so it would taste like heaven.

After the war ended he was awarded with some medals and sent home.

I guess you could say he was a sea-zoned veteran.
