Young Grant was never the smartest boy

Young Grant was never the smartest boy on his block and the other kids would often make fun of him.

One of their favorite jokes was to offer Grant a dime and a nickel and tell him to choose one.

Grant would always take the larger of the two: the nickel.

One day, after the neighborhood kids pulled their prank on Grant, of the nicer children pulled him aside and whispered, “Grant, you know a dime is worth more than a nickel, right? They’re making fun of you.”

Grant nodded and said, “Of course I know that! But if I chose the dime, they’d stop doing it and I’ve almost made twenty dollars!”
